Your Indigo
Scorecard.
Your fundraising performance across 21 metrics, ranked against brand, market, size and all participants — without ever revealing who they are.
Say hello to your new Scorecard report, the latest way we’re sharing insights with you from the IFL Indigo study.
The Scorecard gives you a clear view of how you’re performing on the key fundraising metrics, and how that compares with the other organisations taking part. By drawing together the data you’ve provided, it goes further than Indigo alone, helping you identify strengths, openings for growth, and trends across the wider sector.
Most measures are shown as percentages rather than raw totals — the share of income carried by your most loyal supporters, or how much your regular giving has grown — so a small organisation and a large one can be compared on the same footing. It also means no one’s actual income or supporter numbers ever appear in the report.
You’ll also see metrics that measure reliance — reliance on your best supporters, reliance on a particular recruitment channel, and so on. Those figures give a very useful perspective on the health of a fundraising programme - the balance between performance and whether you're over exposed to a single audience, income stream or channel.
Fundraising is tough at the moment, and it’s not always easy to tell whether your results reflect sector-wide shifts or something unique to your organisation. This is where benchmarking helps. It puts your figures in context, shifting the question from “Are we doing okay?” to the ones that count: “Are others acheiveing higher scores for key metrics?” and “What should we prioritise next?”
We hope this report gives you confidence, sparks fresh ideas, and helps you make the most of every chance to grow your fundraising impact.
